Excel is well known and used throughout the dairy industry.

Because it is written in Excel, data can be extracted easily and used in other programs.
Excel also accomodates expandability options very well.

A complete program for tracking Dry Matter Intakes, Ration Costs, Commodity Shrink, Refusal Rates and Milk to Intake Ratios. Month end summaries make data very easy to analyze. This program also includes batching sheets and an ordering forecaster.

- Section 1
Feed Scope has 13 files within one folder. a Master file and one file for each month of the year.

The purpose of each month is to provide daily information
as well as a month end summary.

The first section is the Master page.

The mix charts in this file do do affect the individual monthly file at all - they are completely independent data.

Master - "Day & Date"
This page is where you enter the name that will appear on all pages throughout the program and the starting day and date that will adjust all other pages accordingly.


Master - "Ingredients"
Here is where you will enter ingredients that will appear on each individual month throughout the program.
12 different grains go above the red line and 25 grains go below the red line.



Master - "Forms"
This is the from that the feeder will use to log daily lbs fed, # animals in the group and the lbs of refusals for each group.

Master - "Mix-1"
On this page are 10 different mix charts that you can mix up to 12 ingredients on.
After entering the lbs of DM of each and the % DM of each ingredient, you will enter the # of cows to start with, the interval and the # of batches per day.
The # of cows to start with & the interval work together to give you several different feeding lists.
Data is shown on an individual pounds basis and on an accumulative basis.

Master - "Mix-2"
This is a chart for premixing grain.
2 different sizes of 2 different mixes are calculated on one page.
You enter the lbs. of each ingredient to feed per cow/per day and the # of cows to feed and the formulas will show you how much of each ingredient is needed for the premix.

This next section contains a file for each individual month.

The pictures and information shown here are for one month. Each month contains the same pages within it's own file.


"Ingredients"
The first tab in each month is the Ingredients tab.
Note that at the top of the page, on the blue bar, the day and date are shown and the page will scroll right to include all the days in the month. At the far right is a summary of the month's data.
There are 3 sections to this tab.
Section #1 is a place to log the incoming ingredients. A log of all ingredients used that day is automatically calculated and shown here.
Note that the top picture show this section and the picture below it shows the summary to the right.



"Ingredients"
Section #2
is a place to log the prices of each ingredient. Prices will automatically roll to the next day unless manually changed. Grains are priced on an AF basis and forages on a DM basis.

"Ingredients"
Section #3
is a re-ording forecaster (not shown). If you use this tab to log incoming ingredients, the forecaster will calculate how much is in the bin vs. how much you are using on a daily basis and tell you how many more days are left of each ingredient.


"Rations"
This tab is where the rations are entered. The ration lbs to be fed to each of 20 groups are entered on this tab.
Note that the forages are above the red line and the grains are below the red line and that the ingredients automatically come in from the Master- "Ingredients" page.
After you enter the lbs fed on the first day they are automatically copied to each subsequent day unless they are manually change.
Here you can change the ingredient's DM on a daily basis if desired otherwise the previous day's % DM will automatically move forward.
You only have to change the DM on group #1 and it will automatically copy through all groups.
Below each group will show the daily DMI, ration costs (forage & grains), actual costs (forage &grain), % DM and % refusals.
