The Dairyman’s Link is a private consulting service that specializes in technologies related to animal agriculture. We have over 30 years experience in animal nutrition and technology related to the dairy industry.

For the past 5 years we have focused primarily in the design and project management for sand and solids separation systems, composting systems and methane digesters.  We take these projects from conception, to far beyond startup to ensure that everything will perform as needed and will achieve the ROI that was planned.

We have been working with computers and farm networks for more than 10 years and have over 7 year experience in video surveillance systems.

We also custom design software specifically for farming.  We create spreadsheets for analyzing data and for preparing presentations to partners and lenders.

Whether you are a large farm or a small farm, understanding all your options is critical to making a correct decision when considering to adopt new technology.

Today's dairy economy demands strong management skills and strengthens the need for sound decision making. Farmers are often told "You can't change the milk price. You need to lower your cost of production." Lowering the cost of production often involves adopting new technology to improve efficiency and manage problem areas. 

The Dairyman's LINK has three main facets:

• To help farmers determine the best course of action to take.

We draw information from a pool of resources including academia, ag businesses, and other consultants inside and outside of agriculture. This pool gives us a wide range of views to help see the business in ways that may not have otherwise been seen.

Business Consulting

We also serve as consultants to various ag related businesses. As in any business, understanding your potential customer is critical for success. What do they want? Why do they buy? How do they think? The more you know, the better you can be prepared.

Because the Dairyman's LINK works closely with large dairy farms, we have gained an understanding of how the big farm operates and how they think. Often part of our job involves prescreening salespeople before the owner/manager will take time to talk with them. We will ask questions such as; Could they bring value to our operation?, Do they know what they're talking about?, Do they seek our best interest or their own? First impressions are critical!

Although we work primarily with large dairy farms, we have also worked with ag businesses to help create marketing plans and train salespeople.
