Today's
dairy economy demands strong management skills and strengthens
the need for sound decision making.
Farmers are often told "You
can't change the milk price. You need to lower your cost
of production."
Many questions arise from this statement. How do I know
where to cut? Where am I too high and where am I low?
What do I do to lower it? How do I know if my decision
was a good decision or not?
To answer these questions the dairyman must establish
a baseline from which to measure and have tools to do
the measuring with. Sometimes we think it's as easy as
raising production but often that isn't the case.
Many other factors can influence profitability that may
or may not increase production.
Dairyman's
